Ed Hinkson
Ed was called to the ministry as a youth at Geyer Springs Baptist Church. He grew up in the Geyer Springs area and attended school in Mabelvale until his family moved to Paron before his junior year. He graduated from Paron High School. While attending Ouachita Baptist College he pastored two mission churches. After graduating from OBC Ed moved to Fort Worth, Texas to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he completed the Master of Divinity program. After finishing his Master’s degree at SWBTS, Ed and his family moved back to Arkansas. During his years of ministry he pastored four churches, served with the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, and was the Director of Missions for Pulaski Baptist Association until his retirement. He continued his preaching by doing supply work and interims for several churches across the state. In January 2011 he came to supply at Hebron for a few weeks. He has now completed his 13th year as pastor.
Ed married Sandy Polos from Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church. They were blessed with a son (Eddie), a daughter (Kim), and three grandchildren (Tehya, Ryan and Edwin).
Ed is an evangelist at heart. You will find him visiting with folks everywhere he goes and sharing the Lord Jesus with them! He encourages the church to “Be in the Word!” and “Do what you can, where you are, with what you’ve got!”
